| Chakras The word chakra means wheel. They are turning wheels of light and color which flow energy, and are in constant motion. The energy they emit sustains us energetically, adding to and enlivening our life force. Within the human body there are over 88,000 chakras which are located along our meridian system. Although there are chakras located within our physical body extending out through and into our auric field, there are also chakras that are located within the auric field itself. The chakras control and filter a constant flow of life force energy through us. They are the vessels that feed this energy through our body. The major seven chakras located along the spinal column turn in a clockwise direction when healthy. Your thoughts, positive or negative, have an effect on your chakras. Since each chakra is associated with specific thoughts, the thoughts you have could affect the corresponding chakra. If you should have a negative thought your chakra(s) may become dirty and sluggish, thus creating energy blockages. It is beneficial to keep your chakras open and clean of blockages, for the blockages may generate health issues and cause you to lose contact with your natural psychic abilities. The chakras listed below are located deep within our physical bodies along the spinal column. The lower chakras are associated with issues that correspond to the material world and spin at a slower rate than the upper chakras. The upper chakras which spin at a faster rate are associated with and focused on spiritual issues. Root Chakra The color associated with the root chakra is red. It is located at the base of the spine and spins the slowest. This chakra rules the basic instinct of survival. Thoughts and feelings in reference to physical security and survival affect this chakra. Sacral Chakra The sacral chakra is located approximately two inches below the navel, and it's color is orange. This chakra is related to issues of physical pleasure. Physical pleasures such as food, addictions, sex, your appearance and physical cravings are thoughts that affect this chakra. Solar Plexus This is the third major chakra which is located under your breast bone and the color associated with this chakra is yellow. The solar plexus represents our I AM presence. It governs your personal power, your decision making and self worth. Thoughts that would influence this chakra would be connected with power, such as having too much or too little. The need to control others and/or a situation or vice versa, and your desire or fear to be powerful can also affect this chakra. Heart Chakra The heart chakra is located in the center of your chest, just right of your physical heart. The colors associated with the heart chakra are pink and/or green. This is the beginning of the upper chakras, which correspond to spiritual issues. Within this chakra is the understanding and experience of who we truly are, our intuitive and natural selves. It is the path to the spiritual realm, where love is truly unconditional. Within the heart chakra we can nurture our own spirit. A great affirmation for the heart chakra is: I truly and whole heartily love and accept myself. Thoughts that would affect this chakra would be in regards to relationships, self-love, love of others and divine love. Throat Chakra Located at throat area, the throat chakra is sky blue in color. It is the chakra that is the passage way between the mind and the heart. It speaks for all of our chakras. If a thought comes from the sacral chakra for example, your tone may be seductive or have a sexual undertone to it. If it speaks from the solar plexus, your voice may have a determined authoritive or insecure tone to it. Thoughts that affect your throat chakra would be in reference to speaking your own truth. Ear Chakra This isn't considered one of the major seven chakras, but I find it important to have an understanding of, for it is our link to clairaudience. The ear chakra is located between your two physical ears and the color is a reddish violet. Thoughts that would affect your ear chakra are assoicated with your desire to hear Divine Guidance. Verbal abuse and loud unhealthy noises also affect this chakra. Third Eye or Brow Chakra The third eye chakra is located between your physical eyes and is an indigo blue in color. This is your spiritual eye. Thoughts that can affect this chakra are associated with your visions of the future and/or past. What are you willing or not willing to see? This chakra can also be affected by your beleifs about the spirit world and your desire or fear of seeing spirits. Crown Chakra This chakra is located on the top of your head. The colors associated with this specific chakra are lavender, white and/or silver. This chakra is connected with the center of our spirituality, our true connection to God, Source, All That Is. It is the fastest spinning chakra of the major seven. Feelings and thoughts that affect this chakra would be in connection to our belief of God, spirituality and religion. |
